D. A. Doughty, pastor of the church, heard their vows in the double ring ceremony,Miss Waldrup is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas M. Waldrup of Ruston. The parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Joel L. Murphy of Hico,The choir loft of the church held a brass arch of candles entwined with ivy flanked oneither side by ornate brass candelabras holding tall ivory tapers. A massive bouquet of mixed flowers was placed under the arch in the choir loft. Large flowing Ferns on pedestals were grouped together on either side of the church. The family pews were marked with white ribbon and English ivy.The bride’s book was placed on a table in the foyer of the church. Mrs. Pam Willis presided at the table, which was decorated with a memory candle and a swivel feather pen. Asparagus ferns were placed on either side of the table.Music for the wedding was provided by Mrs. Eva Avery, who played n medley of wedding songs on the organ prior to Ihe ceremony. Miss Debra Brown, who accompanied herxcJ on the guitar, sang “If,” ‘‘The Wedding Song, and a Wedding Prayer she had written.Itrf hrlrie, given in marriage by her father, was wearing an ivory silk prganza empire gown with a high neckline and long filled sleeves. The taut bodice was overlaid with re-embroidered alencon lace which also formed caps over the sleeves and was used at the wrists to fashion wide scalloped cuffs. Irredescent beads highlighted the bodice and cuffs. The full skirt fell from scallops of the lace at the hbrise waistline and swept into a full chapel train. The skirt and train featured a wide band of lace holding a deep flounce at the hemline.The tiered veil of silk illusion drifted about her shoulders from a demi cap of silk and lace. She cairied a bouquet of white and pink’ roses featuring’ baby’s breath and ivy.Miss Lynda Waldrup, sister of the bride, was the Miad of Honor. She was attired in a sky blue silk organza gown with a deep V neckline and a wide rippled collar. The same ruffle effect extended down the front from the neckline completelysilver service at the groom's table. Atop the groom’s cake stood a small white and gold carriage pulled by four while horses. They were dressed in floor length dresses of blue overlaid with white eyelet. Each carried a white wicker basket of mixed summer flowers.Best Man was the father of the groom, Mr. Joel L. Murphy. The.groomsmen were Tommyring bearer.Mrs. Waldrup elected for her daughter’s wedding n long gown of green silk organza ingroom's cake was served by Miss Jail Hill and Miss Donna McMichael. Miss Allyson Cruise served the coffee.Tea girls were Miss Elizabeth Bennett and Miss Nanette Vining.Passing out the rice bags were Pam McMichael, Robin Itabb, and Maurlcllo Murphy.For going away, the new Mrs, Murphy chose a two piece white suit trimmed in green. It was accented with a floral house oC green shades, white, and beige. She wore a light green orchid corsage.Following n short wedding trip, the couple will reside In Monroe.Rehearsal DinnerThe fellowship hall of the Dubach Baptist Church was the scene of the rehearsal dinner honoring Miss Donna Kay Waldrup and Mr. Richard Lynn Murphy.Mr. and Mrs. Joel L. Murphy wore the host for the dinner held at 6 o’clock on August 19, 1976.Bridal place cards featuring small flowers marked Ihe seating arrangement. The tables were centered with bououets of mixed flowers, canales, and ivy. The bead table featured two whLte satin ribbons with the names Donna and Ricky outlined In glitter on one and August 20,1976, on ihe other.
