On August 7th, 1965 a pretty summer wedding took place in the Blessed Sacrament Church, Wainwright, with Father F. Stempfle officiating at the double ring ceremony, uniting in marriage Lynda Maureen, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Chapman of Wain wright, and Constable Arnold James, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Walter of Punnichy, Saskatchewan.Mrs. L. Smith of Wainwright accompanied the soloist, Mrs. Mailhouse of Wainwright.The bride was given in marriage by her father, and was charming in a slim gown of white satin, embedded with pearls and featuring a full length train. Her full length veil floated from a headpiece of peau de seau. A eas-cad bouquet of red roses and lillies of the valley complimented her gown,Her bridesmaids, Miss Wendy War-awa and Miss Donna Glain wore identical white taffeta sheaths, with white lace shells with red pillbox hats and red shoes.The ring bearer was Master Dale. Walter, nephew of the groom from WiUowbrook, Sask., and the flower girl was Miss Karen Ann Chapman,The best men were Const. Wayne Fedje, Viking and Const. John Flynn of Punnichy.The ushers were Mr. T. W. Chapman oldest brother of the bride, and Mr. Adolf Walter of Punnichy, oldest brother of the groom.For the happy occasion the brides’ mother chose a beige and blue two-piece ensemble, with white accessories. The grooms' mother chose a two piece dress ensemble of sandlewood, with white accessories.The Guard of Honor, dressed in red serge, consisted of Cpl. J. Allen, Cnst. J. Doree, Cnst. T. Ferguson,, of Wainwright, Cpl. M. Sheppard, Cnst. J. Kendall, Edmonton and Cnst. Ed. Bergsma, Smoky Lake.Following the reception open house was held at the brides’ parents. A reception was held in the Elks’ * Hall with over 100 guests attending. The head table was adorned by a three-tier wedding cake flanked by red rose buds. Grace was said by Father Stempfle. The toast was proposed by Mr. Ed. Walker, in his usual witty manner, and the Master of Ceremonies was Sgt. V. W. Murray, Royal Engineers, Calgary, brother-in-law ofthe bride. Many telegrams of goodwishes were read during the reception. Misses Pat and Barbara Chapman were in charge of the guest book.After the reception a dance was heldniece of the bride from Wainwright.
