IVedding, J3elVCox — SpaldingSt. Andrew’s United Church was the scene of a double ring ceremony on Friday, August 26 at 7:30 p.m. when Sharon Lilian, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J .K. Spalding, was united in marriage with William Lee Cox, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. C .Cox. Officiating minister was Rev. E. C. Bewell .The soloist, Mr. Alex Craig, was accompanied at the organ by Mrs. F. Barrett.The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a full length gown of arnel faille, with overbodice of Alecon lace, featuring scallopped waist and neck-line and lily point sleeves. The bouffant skirt was appliqued with lace. Her elbow-length veil was held in place by a double crown of seed pearls. She carried a white Bible, a gift from her former C. G. I. T. group, lace encased and topped with yellow rose buds.Attending the bride were, her sister Norie in turquoise brocaded taffeta, and the groom’s sister Kathleen in peach brocaded taffeta. They wore matching headpieces and carried bouquets of autumn shaded maple leaves, centered with gold chrysanthemums.Mr. Bob Russell and Mr. Bill Shackel of Killarney were best men and guests were ushered by Mr. Barry Cornish and Mr. Murray Harvey. Mr. E. L. (.Bill,) Taylor proposed the toast to the bride at the reception held in the church auditorium.The couple will take up residence in Winnipeg where the groom will complete his studies at the University of Manitoba.
