Colored Wedding. There was a session of the Lime Kilm club last evening, at least a Dubuque “Brother Gardner’’ so informed the Herald’s reporter when he men him on the corner of Sixth and Main streets. Dr. J. P. Quigley’s office was thronged with representatives of the colored population of the city. The stairway and portico leading to the office were lined when the reporter approached the temple of justice. “Make Haste to de Golden Wedding,’’ “Climbing up de Golden Stair,” “When de Sunrise in de Morning,” these and other familiar jubilee airs were emiuating from the throats of a dozen whistlers met on the way. A glance inside and Squire Quigley was observed in the midst of the sable assemblage performing a marriage ceremony in the most approved manner. Lou Christopher and Lida Haywarden were the contracting parties. They were escorted home by a number of friends who gave them ahouse warming later in the evening.
