C. W. Wallace, of Manchester, and a poem by William Stark, Esq., of Troy, N Y , (a native of Manchev ter, and a grandson of Gen. John Stark, who h ad his residence at that place )Mr. Wallace's address was highly worthy of tho occasion, giving a \ivid and glowing description of thiegs, as they were “long time ago,” and a most excellent delineation of tho contrast between themanufacturing facilities of the past and the present. He stated that nearly every mill in Manchester now manufactured thirty mile* of cloth per day.Mr. Stark’s poem was acknowledged, by all, tobe one of most surpassing brilliancy and elegance. It possessed all varieties of style—the grave, the gay, the complimentary, the satirical.
