Married at NashuaArea Couples Join In Triple WeddingTwo Brodhead brothers and their sister surprised friends and relatives by marrying their sweethearts in a triple wedding ceremony Saturday at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, Nashua, la.Members of the wadding party may even plan a honeymoon together in the future, but were back at their respective jobs this morning.The three couples made arrangements to exchange vows before 4tev. Glenn L. Utterback. pastor of the Congregational church near Nashua, by telephone Friday night.They arrived at the church about 10:30 a m Saturday and left for home about noon The, couples were married in the order of the bridegrooms’ ages — oldest to youngest.Walter Hegi. 24, Brodhead, and his bride. Judy Ann Hopper, 18, Orfordville, were pronounced man and wife first. Ernest Robert Hegi, 22, and Glenda Ann Lewis, 19. Monroe, were second, and Joe Henry William, 21, of Brodhead married Frances Virginia Hegi, 18, the sister of the other bridegrooms, to close the ceremony.Rev. Utterback said he had performed more than 35,000 marriages during his 25 years in the ministry, but that this was only his second triple wedding. The first was about six years ago before he came to Nashua.He said the couples decided to come to the church because a friend. Duane Bliss, also of Brodhead, had been married there in September. 1957.The fact that Ernest was ordered by his draft board to report for a physical examination tomorrow prompted the wedding.Relatives here said they knew all of the couples had planned w’eddings sometime in the near future, but did not know of the triple wedding until viewing a elevision newscast Saturday night.Ernest and Frances both were f back on the job at Oaktron Industries Inc. this morning, and Walter resumed work with a construction firm at Hanover. 111.The six newly marriedwitnessed each others marriage papers, and there were no attendants. The only persons in the church were out of state visitors.Rev. Utterback said that nearly 150,000 persons visit the churoh every year The song, “The Little Brow-n Church in the Vale,” which has spread the name of the church around the world, was written 101 years ago by William Savage Pitts, a county schoolteacher from Union (Rock County), Wis.The couples arrived home yesterday and greeted surprised friends and relatives. They said a multiple honeymoon may be scheduled later.Mr. and Mrs. Joe William will make their home in Beloit, Mr and Mrs. Ernest Hegi will live n Monroe and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hegi have made no de-linite plans.
