DennisIn a beautiful ceremony performed at noon yesterday in the First Presbyterian church of Kingsport Miss Lola Anderson,daughter of Mr, and Mrs, A. W. Andersen of Augusta, Ga., became the . bride of Mr. John B. Dennis of New York City and Kingsport. The ceremony was performed by Dr. T. P. Johnston, pastor of the church, with only the mother and father of the bride and a very few intimate friends of the contracting parties present.After a day or two at Roth-erwood the bride and groom will leave on a bridal trip the destination of which has not been announced.Mrs. Dennis is a landscape en-I gineer, having graduated in this work from Cornell University : She came here some years ago in the capacity of municipal landscape engineer, and in her administration, of the Kingsport Nurseries and her genius in the beautifying of the city’s homes, streets, parks and public places she has been a great factor in the development and happiness of the community. As the result of the skill and taste with which her work has been done in Kingsport she has come to berecognized as one of the leading) landscape architects of the country, Her father is president of the Charleston and . Western North Carolina Railroad, which connects with ^ the Clinchiield Railroad at Spartanburg, ^S. C.• Mr, Dennis, one of the country’s leading financiers, was formerly a partner in the noted New York City banking firm of Blair and Company. • He was the builder of the Clinchfield. Railroad and more recently the developer of the city of Kingsport.The development of the states traversed by the Clinchfield Railway, as well as the phenomenal development at Kingsport, will be an enduring monument to the financial and constructive leadership and genius of Mr, Dennis.The contributions of both Mr. and Mrs. Dennis to the happiness-of the people of Kingsport andthe parts which both have played in the building of this city are beyond, estimation. Consequently it is with true joy and gratitude that their hundreds of friends here join in wishing them every happiness in their weddedlife.Mr. and Mrs. Dennis will make their future,home at Oyster Bay.
