Bachman, of York, and Miss Helen Baldy Married in St. John's Episcopal Church. *The wedding of Mias Helen Pearson Baldy, eldest dan eh ter of Mr. and Mrs Stephen Baldy, of this place, and William A. Bachman, of York* Pa., was solemniz d in St. John’s Episcopal church l ift Thursday evening at 5:30 o’clock. The ceremony was performed by Rev. ('. E. Fessenden, rector of Christ Episcopal church, Berwick who 30 years before officiated at the wedding of the bride’s parents. Rev. John Diggles, of Northumberland, rector of this parish, assisted in the service.The bride was given away by her father, the wedding party including Miss Lucy Baldy. of South Bethlehem, sister of the bride, as maid of honor; Miss Margaret Willits, of Sunbury, a cousin, bridesmaid; Charles Bachman, of Tarry town, N. Y. brother of the groom, best man, and Rupert Baldy, groomsman, Donald Baldy, brother of the bride, and George Willits, of Sun-bury, a cons* a, as ushers. Miss Bessie Dent, as organist, rendered Lohengrin’s wedding march as the wedding party entered the church; “O Promise Me” daring the ceremony, and Mendelssohn’s wedding march as the party left the church. The ceremony was witnessed by a large number of invited gnests. The decorations at the church were beautiful autumn leaves of various colors.Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents on North Third street, which was beautifully decorated with autumn leaves and cut flowers. Mrs Dodson, of Bloomsburg, was caterer. The bridal table was a handsome bit of floral decoration, made up of smilax, roses, carnations and ferns.The bride wore a gown of embroidered white crepe-de chine over white taffeta and carried white roses. The maid of honor wore pink crepe-de-chine and carried pink roses; the bridesmaid canary silk mulle and carried chrysanthemums. The groom’s gift to the bride was a pearl brooch, and to the ushers stickpins. The wedding gifts were of unusual beauty and included cut glass, silver, china and linen, making a magnificent collection.The bride is one of Catawissa’s best known and most popular young ladies, and the groom is a mechanical engineer, holding a responsible position at York.Mr. and Mrs. Bachman left on the evening train on the Penn’a RR. on a wedding tour to New York, Washington and Old Point Comfort, Ya. They will be “at home” after Nov. 10th at 219 East Philadelphia street, York, Pa.
