Wafersfjcincu Wattes repeats vowsNancy Jo Mattes and Thomas Michael Waters were married Saturday, Ort. 24, at 2 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church here with the Hev, Edward Collins officiating. Their parents a r e Mr, and Mrs. John J. Mattes and Mr. and Mrs. John L, Wu-ters, both of Washington.The double ring cere m o n y was repeated as the bride was given in marriage by her father. She chose for her wedding an empire A-line gown of peau de soie and appliqued Venise lace witli bauds of lace accenting the wedding ring neckline and cuffs of the long Juliet sleeves. Vertical bands of t ii e lace accented the bodice and .skirt. The court length mantilla veil of silk illusion was bordered with matching lace. She carried a nosegay of butterfly orchids and orange roses witii springer-11 and ivy.Mrs. Edward Mattes of Cedar Rapids, sister - in - law of the bride, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs, Steve Whisler of Washington and Miss Elaine Crockett of Iowa CityMiss Kimberly Strcb of Iowa City was the junior bridesmaid and Angela Coleman of D e s Moines, the flower girl, b o t h nieces of the bride.The bridesmaids wore floor-longth gowns of gold polyester fashioned in A-line style with princes seaming and orange and yellow trim around the short sleeves and high round neckline!!. Their headpieces were small mums and they carried baskets of yellow pompons and orange fall leaves.Edward Mattes stood as best man. Groomsmen were Steve Whisler and Paul Sondag of Iowa Falls. Jeff Hoyle of Washington, cousin of the bridegroom. was the junior groomsman. Mr. Waters, who graduated from the local high school in 1966, is employed at Water’s Trucking in Washington Among the out of town guests at the wedding was Mrs. Joseph Halsch of Iowa City, grandmother of the bride. Other guests came from Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Davenport, Burlington, Mbline and California.
