An impressive wedding, marked by its simplicity, took place Saturday afternoon, Oct. 23, in the First Baptist Church when Miss Winifred Louise Boring, daughter of Mrs. Dorothy Phillips Boring, 106 School St., and Frederick E. Karrasch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Milo Barber, of Custer City, were united in marriage. The single ring ceremony was read at 2 o'clock by the Rev. Berth old Jacksteit, pastor. Altar decora tions were white gladioli, white mums and palms. Mrs. Ida McKain, organist, played a recital of nuptial music including “Serenade,” “Salute d’ Amour,” “Ave Maria,” “The Bridal Chorus” from Wagner and Lohengrin’s “Wedding March.” Bride's Ensemble The bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Leon C. Phillips, of St. Marys, Pa. She was charming in a forest green crepe dress styled with a plunging neckline trimmed in tiny colored beads, cap sleeves and a draped front. Her hat was bonnet shaped trimmed with green velvet flowers and feathers. She complemented her costume by el bow length black gloves and black suede pumps. She wore a double strand of pearls, gift of the bridegroom, and carried a lace handkerchief which had belonged to her great grand mother. Her colonial bouquet was of red roses and white pompons tied with white satin ribbon. Mrs. William Booth, friend of the bride, was matron of honor and wore a dress of royal blue crepe. It was made with side drapes, jewelry neckline and tiny cap sleeves. She wore a matching hat and complet ed her ensemble by elbow length black gloves and black suede pumps Ber only jewelry was a gold neck lace and earrings, gift of the bride, and she carried a colonial bouquet of pink roses and white pompons tied with pink satin ribbon. Reception at Home Mrs. Dorothy Boring, mother of the bride, chose a gray dress, black accessories and wore a corsage of red roses and white pompons. Mrs. Barber, mother of the bridegroom, selected a gray suit with black ac cessories. Her corsage was of pink roses and white pompons. Following the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served at the bride's home with a reception held at the home from 3 o'clock until 5 o'clock. The bridal table was centered with a three-tiered wedding cake topped by a miniature bride and bride groom, flanked by tall white tapers. Decorations of white, pink and blue wedding bells with white and yellow mums were also used. The couple left on a wedding trip to unannounced points and upon return will reside at 104 °, School St. As her traveling outfit the bride chose a gray and brown glen-plaid suit with brown felt bonnet shaped hat and brown accessories. Her corsage was of yellow roses and pompons Both Mr. and Mrs. Karrasch at tended local schools. Mrs. Karrasch is employed by the Zippo Manu facturing Co. and Mr. Karrasch, a veteran of World War Two, during which he served with the U. S. Navy, is employed by John DeWolfe. Mrs. Gerald Weldy and son, of Buffalo, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Quinn Jr. of Port Allegany, and Mrs Florence Conway, of Niagara Falls were out-of-town guests.
