Broaddus, to J. Lloyd Jones, son of the late Robert D. Jones and wife.The ceremony was performed by Rev. Dr. Finley of the Urbana Presbyterian church, in* a simple solemn and impressive manner, using the full Episcopalian ring service.A union of hearts, purposes, intents and interests are two soulsproperly united and come nearer to enjoying perfect bliss on earth, perfect happiness than any other experience or relationship in life. It was a lovely morning and the friends devised in the open yard close to the dwelling and under a large tree next to fine evergreens a lovely arched bower decorated with autumn leaves in their beautiful tints and colors. Nature’s wondrous beauty as she is about to lay aside the gorgeous dress of summer for the long spell and rest of winter.The bride wore a gown of voile, over white silk, withcrochet trimming. Mrs. T. A.of Urbana, aunt of the bride, as matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Miss Alida Bowler of Alton, and Miss Ethel Gwinn of Urbana, college friends of the bride. Dean T. A. Clark of Urbana, was best man, and J. S. Clevinger of Jackson, Mich., and R. F. Hunter of Chilli-cothe, the ushers.The bride attended the home school, from there going to the high school at Urbana. Graduating there she then became a student in the state university, from which institution she also graduated. In natural ability, in education, in grace of mind and heart, the lovely bride is fitted to adorn any station in life.The groom graduated from the Bradford high school and from the state university at Urbana; then after a year spent in a tour of Europe he was given the responsible position of cashier in the First National bank of Henry, of which his uncle, C. R. Jones, is president, where he has enjoyed the confidence of every officer, stockholder and depositor for several years.A wedding trip to Chicago was taken by the happy couple and on their return they will be at home to their friends in the fine residence lately purchased by the groom on Deacon Hill. We sincerely congratulate both bride and groom upon their choice in life’s companionship, and wish for them that happiness which only a true loving union secures.Mr. and Mrs. E. O.
