Nelllo Murphy, who. are tho complainants In the case.It was alleged hy Attorney Goltz that while Mrs. Murphy was absent. Talbott, alias Hughes, and Miss Redman journeyed to Elk Point, 8. D. Tho couple was said to have arrived In Elk Point before the courthouso was open. and. when It was opened for business, marriage licences were lesuod to Ray Talbott and the Red-man girl, who gave her age aa 18[.years, both of Sioux City, and James Hayes. 23 years old, Detroit. Mich., and Thelma La Brie. 23 years old, Eureka Springs. Ark., records at tho county clerk’s office demonstrated.When the couple returned to Sioux City. Ray Tnlbbtt. alias Hughes, was taken Into custody by police, on complaint of Mrs. Murphy. In a hotel. Chief of Detectives Fred Spencer stated. On Tuesday night. October 13. Anna Ylltalo, otherwise known as ■’Babe” Clark, 20 years old. ended her life by drinking lysol In the Puck hotel. When Babe” was taken to St. Joseph’s hospital in a dying condition. where a vain effort was made to save her life. Pearl Redman wag tho only friend to accompany her. Among the dead girl’s effects was found a book of handwritten poems dealing with the subject of love and bearing such title* as Let Us Walt* While Saying »Goodby,” ”A Princess* Story.” Dreams of Home” and He Offered Me Platinum Rings.”.The petition for annulment Is based on charges of fraud and marriage by Intimidation.
