JIm*Mary Ellen Becker Named Honoree at Personal ShowerMiss Mary Ellen Becker, right, visits with her grandmothers, Mrs. Homer Hinman Sr., left, and Mrs. August Becker, center, at a party given in her honor Friday evening, October 16, by Mrs. Elmer Smith in her home on Lee Street. Miss Becker is the bride-elect of Ron Golightly. The centerpiece on the dining room tahle featured a bride figurine surrounded by small pots of African violets in varying shades of orchid and pink. The same colors wererepeated in the aster corsages presented to the honoree, her mother, Mrs. George Becker, and the two grandmothers. Grandmother Homer Hinman’s traditional pecan praline cake was served with meringue cookies, miniature cream puffs, punch and coffee. A game of matching wits was played, at which the honoree’s sister, Mrs. Jeffrey Schwarz of Uvalde, was winner. Guests showeredMiss Becker with personal gifts.....Staff Photo
