For something old the bride wore a locket which belonged to her great great aunt, Mrs. Alice Pace. Mrs. Pace wore the locket at her wedding 59 years ago.Mrs. Elaine Elza, of Commerce, sister of the bride was matron of honor and Miss Brenda Courson of Pickton was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Cindy Knight, Winnsboro, sister of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Marilyn Mays, Pickton, sister of the bride. They wore formal A-line gowns of yellow embossed peau de soie and matching headpieces held their veils of yellow net. They wore elbow length white gloves and carried single, long stemmed yellow roses.Misses Lenise Miller of Pickton, cousin of the bride, and Mitzi Knight, Winnsboro, sister of the bridegroom, were candlelighters. They also wore floor length dresses of yellow embossed peau de soi and yellow rose corsages.Flower girls were Tammy Mays of Pickton, cousin of the brkle, and Shelly Petty, Como, also a cousin of the bride. They wore floor length empire design dresses of yellow peau de soie and carried baskets of yellow and white flowers.Bryan Mays, Dallas, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer,Mike Davis, Dallas, cousin of the bridegroom was best man. Groomsmen were Tommy Keith, Billy Embry and Cliff Embry all of Dallas. Ushers were Pat Etea, brother-in-law of the bride, Commerce, and Tommy Mays, Dallas, brother of the bride.For travel, the bride chose a pimento color wool knit in a blouson design trimmed with gold buttons. Her accessories were black and she wore a corsage of yellow roses.A reception was held at the church following the ceremony. The refreshment table was laid with a white cloth overlaid with white tulle. A silver candelabra arrangement of yellow roses formed the centerpiece and yellow streamers embossed with the couple’s names extended from the arrangement.
