Kiwanis NotesThe object or tiils article, prepared by the Publicity Committee, is., to explain briefly to the people of Maquo-keta and vicinity what Kiwanis really is. and\at the same time, give a short history of the Maquoketa Ki-: wants, club up to date.;-\:On June 16, 1921, .at Riverview Country Club, occurred the Charter -meeting of the Maquoketa Kiwanis club. About forty brother Kiwan-ians from Davenport; Dubuque and Clinton were present to greet the members of the' new. club.'Lieut. Gov. Schaaff presented the. Charter to .the local club and it was accepted by H. S: MitchelL_.Seventy Maquoketa Kiwaniane were present at .this first meeting and all were enthused with the.spfrit of Ki~ wapisism.• The following officers were elected . for ibis year:7 President—D. It is strange that although we always spoke to our next door neighbor ve always thought him a grouch until we met him at Kiwanis.
