A family dinner held at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Joseph Baydak, 308 Dennis Street, Oct. 11, honored Mr. and Mrs. Steve Ukrainec on the occasion of their golden wed ding anniversary. There were 36 family members and friends present at the dinner. Gifts were presented to the couple by Ernest Ukrainec, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Ukrainec. Messages of congratulations were received from Governor- General Roland Michener, Hon. Walter Dinsdale, Hon. Robert Stanfield, Premier Ed Schreyer, Walter Weir MLA, Hon. Leon ard S. Evans, Ed McGill MLA, Lt.-Gov. R. S. Bowles and His Worship Mayor S. A. Magnac ca. Mr. Ukrainec was born in the Ukraine and came to Can ada with his family at the age of eight. The family settled in the Angusville district where they farmed. Mrs. Ukrainec, the former Nettie Shwaluke, was born in the Olha district near Oakburn The couple was married at Angusville on Nov. 4, 1919, and farmed near Angusville until 1958 when they retired to Fort William, Ont. They moved to Brandon in 1962. They had three daughters and six sons—Mrs. Orval Thompson (Eileen), of Virden. Mrs. Jo seph Baydak (Agnes), of Bran don. Mrs. Nick Boryskiewich (Pearl), of Thompson, Mike of Windsor, Ont., Max of Fort Wil liam, Peter of Schrieber and Paul of Dauphin (twins) and Ernest of Fort William. Walter died several years ago. There are 37 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. HONORED BY FAMILY Mr. and Mrs. Steve Ukrainec were honored on their 50th wedding anniversary.
