Monica and Matthew MundtNeuweg, Mundt take vowsMonica Lynn Neuweg and Matthew James Mundt were united in marriage at a 2 p.m. ceremony Sept. 25 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Fort Madison. Rev. Robert McAleer performed the nuptials, with organist Diane Faulkner and flutist Shanara Schweizer accompanying the Burlington High School choir, directed by Carla Schweizer.Parents of the couple are Bill and Kathy Neuweg of West Point and Rex and Donna Mundt of Burlington.A reception at St. Mary’s Parish Center was hosted by the bride’s uncle and aunt, Terrell and Adrienne Wilson, with help from Sara Mead, Andrea Wilken, Maria Popek and Lucia Wolbert.The bride wore a white satin sheath gown accented with irridescent bugle beads and white seed pearls. The bodice featured a sweetheart neckline, high collar, Victorian sleeves and an open back with a candy box bow and varigated pearl lengths dangling from both front and back openings. Illusion panels graced the sleeves and skirt front, and embroidered lace scalloped the hemline of the dress and the detachable semi-cathedral length train.Tamera Calvert, friend of the bride from Las Vegas, Nev., was the maid of honor. Kelly Manka, St. Louis, and Amy Mead, Cedar Rapids, both cousins of the bride; and Kristin VanMaanen, Leighton, the bride’s friend, were bridesmaids. Alexandra Davis, Golden, Colo., the bride’s cousin, was the flowergirl.Mike French, Council Bluffs, the groom’s friend, was the best man. Jeff Crowner, West Burlington, and Scott Wade and Wayne Mueller, both of Burlington, all friends of the groom, were groomsmen. Kyle Calvert, Las Vegas, Nev., was the ringbearer.Matthew Neuweg, Hannibal, Mo., and Josh Neuweg, Mount Pleasant, both the bride’s brothers, served as ushers.The bride is a 1987 graduate of Aquinas HighSchool and a 1992 graduate of the University of Dubuque. The bridegroom is a 1987 graduate of Burlington High School, and will graduate in December of this year from the University of Dubuque.After a honeymoon at Cancun, Mexico, the couple lives in Dubuque.
