Peel-Strickland Vows Are Read In RopesvilleFirst Baptist Church in Ropesville was the scene Sunday at 2:30 p.m. of the marriage of Miss Peggy Jean Strickland, of Dumas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Strickland of Ropesville, and Everett E. Peel, son of Mrs. Frances Peel of Ennis.Officiating at the double ring ceremony before an altar decorated with white gladioli was the Rev. W. L. Cass. Carroll Hudson presented a prelude of wedding music.Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a royal blue suit with a corsage of white carnations.Miss Ann Strickland of Ropesville was her sister’s maid of honor. She wore a suit of blue velvet with a corsage of red carnations.Ronald Peel of Ennis served his brother as best man. Ushers were J. F. Strickland Jr. of Abilene and Danny Strickland of Snyder, brothers of the bride.A reception followed the ceremony in the home of the bride’s parents. The table was laid with a white lace cloth and was centered with an arrangement of white gladioli.The couple will be at home In Iow’a City, Iowa.
