Myers, Rt. 3, city, and the groom is the son of Mr, and Mrs. Robert Newport, Lakin, Kan, Candelabras decorated with sprays of lilies of the valley flanked an arrangement of white mums and gladiolus on the altar table for the double ring, candlelight rites,Mrs. Grace Burkhart, auntof the bride, was organist,Mrs. Margaret Domelle sang three selections.MISS CAROL NEWPORT,sister of the groom, attended as maid of honor and bridesmaids were two other sisters, the Misses Dynette and June Newport. All are from Lakin, Kan. Miss Linda Domelle was flower girl.Phillip Newport served his brother as best man and groomsmen and ushers were the bride’s brothers, Steven and Jerry Myers, city. Kirk Newport, brother of the groom, was ring bearer.Given in marriage by her father, the bride appeared in a gown of Chantilly lace over taffeta fashioned with a full circular skirt, Empire waist, long tapered sleeves edged with a lace ruffle, a high ruffled neckline and a satin sash.Seed pearls trimmed the satin bows at the front and back center.HER FLOOR-LENGTH mantilla was of nylon net edged with lace and the petal type headpiece was trimmed with rhinestones and seed pearls. The bride carried a cascade, of white mums, orchids and baby pink roses. She carried a .white lace handkerchief.The maid, of honor was attired in a gown of sky bluenylon over taffeta styled with■ short puffed sleeves, high banded neckline and ah Em-■ pire waist accented with a royal blue satin sash. She wore a white lace picture hat. banded, in royal blue satin arid carried a nosegay of white mums edged in blue.The gowns of the bridesmaids were identical to that of the maid of honor with the exception of color which was royal blue accented with sky blue satin. The flower gjrTs frock was identical to the honor attendant’s and she carried a white lace basket filled withvaricolored petals,MOTHERS of the couple, were gifted with corsages of white mums. .A reception was held- in the church basement following the ceremony. Hostesses were Mrs. Ed Hall, Sirs, Lou McKinney, cousin of the bride, and. Mrs. Joe McKee.A1967 graduate of the Lewis Cass high school, the bride is a senior at the Baptist Bible College in Denver, Colo., majoring in elementary teaching. She is also employed at the Stover Candy Co, The groom is also a student at the Baptist Bible College, where he is .studying for the ministry. He was formerly employed at Stover’s.
