Shiner Gazette — Shiner, TexasThursday October 13, 1966Pekar-Breitschopf Vows SolemnizedThe marriage of Miss Carolyn Ann Pekar and Billy James Breitschopf was solemnized by the Reverend Anthony Elsing, September 24, 1966 at 5 p.m. in the St. James Catholic Church,Gonzales.Parents of the couple are Mr.and Mrs. William Pekar and Mr. and Mrs. Willie Breitschopf.Accompanied by Mrs. David Walshak, organist, Mrs. Rudy Hrncirik sang “Ava Maria” and “Mother, At Thy Feet WeAre Kneeling”.The vows were spoken beforean altar decorated with baskets of gladioli with large white mums and candlelabrum oneach side.Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a sheath gown of silk shantung. The bodice was styled with rounded neckline and bell sleeves embossed with seed pearls and lace appliques. A chapel train was attached with a bow to the back of the Empire waist.Her veil of illusion was held by tulle leaves arranged as small flowers accented with pearls and sequins and she carried a white orchid surrounded by white chrysanthemums and lily of the valley.Mrs. E. R. Breitschopf was maid of honor and Miss Rita Jane Pekar, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid. Little Miss Stacy Lee was flower girl. They wore growns of gold brocaded satin fashioned with Empire waists and round necklines with a back panel held by a large bow. Their headpiece was a self fabric rose on a circle of net.Best man was John Pekar and groomsman was Dennis Kutach. Maurice Breitschopf served as ringbearer.The mother of the bride was dressed in a pink paisley knit ensemble with pink feather hat and beige accessories. The bridegroom’s mother wore ablue shirt waist dress with black accessories. Each wore awhite corsage.Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Parish Hall of the church.The bride and bridegroom, their attendants and their parents were in the receiving line. Misses Mary Jane and Magdalen Janak presided at the bride’s book and Miss Jo Ann Rossow was in charge of thegifts. .The bride’s table, laid withan off-white lace cloth, was centered with the orchid from her bouquet. The cake, a five tiered stairstep confection was decorated with gold roses with a small church on the top and miniatures of the wedding party on the steps. A small bride and bridegroom were at the base of the cake.Pigs-in-the-blanket, smokedturkey and cheese sandwiches, pickles, chips, gold ‘mints and tea were also served.The bridegroom’s table laid with an off-white lace cloth held a German chocolatecake and coffee.Members of the house party who assisted with the serving were Mrs. Freddie Marek, Miss Dorothy Vordenbaum, Miss Dorothy Jean Pekar, Miss Judy Bujnoch, Miss Linda Knezek, Miss Beth Simersky, Miss Debbie Lee, Mrs. Paul Janak, Jr., Mrs. Leroy Janak, Miss Patty Denker and Miss DianeMican.For the travel ensemble, the bride wore a cranberry sheath dress complemented with black patent accessories. She is a graduate of Gonzales High School and of Capitol Beauty School in Austin and is presently with Armando’s 3tauty Salon.The bridegroom, also a graduate of Gonzales High School, holds a position with Smith’s Meat Market.Following a wedding trip to Corpus Christi, the couple is now at home at 307 Wallace inGonzales.tiaA.tlrtsfteiII
