THE MARRIAGE OF MISS Helen Loretta Megan and Mrs. Charles Eugene Schafer was solemnized at nine o’clock Tuesday morning at St. Mary’s church. The church which was elaborately decorated for the occasion presented a scene beautiful and inspiring. The choir was assisted by the Wheeler orchestra.At the appointed hour the bride proceeded by her little sister, Marguerite, as flower girl, entered the church, resting on her father’s arm. She wagj attended by her sister, Misg Luci! Megan. They proceeded up the eentei aisle to the altar rail while the orchestra played Mendelssohns wedding march. Meanwhile* the groom, accompanied by his nephew, John Schaf er, of Iowa Falls, proceeded from the north sacristy and at the altar rail received the bride and led her to the predious awaiting them in the sanctuary. There the entire party was met by the officiating clergyman, Rev. Father T. J, Dowling, in whose presence were uttered the words which joined them Until death do us part.” Francis and Michael Megan, brothers of the bride, vested in white cassocks and surplices, assisted in the marriage service, while Dan Megan and Edward Clary acted as acalytes of the High Mass which followed the ceremony. During the High Mass the solemn nuptial blessing was given and holy communion was received by the bride anti groom and their attendants. At theCommunion Rosewig Mass in G was sung by the choir assisted by Mrs. Scurry at the organ and with orchestra accompaniment. jThe bride was beautiful in a gown of embroidered net, wore a white veil,I and carried a bouquet of roses. The bridesmaid was attired in pink georg-! ette and a white feather hat, and wore a corsage of roses, while the flower girl wore a dainty little white net dress and carried a basket of roses.| After the ceremony a five coursehome- The (lining room was dccorat-ed with peach blossoms and blue birds and canaries were perched among the branches. In the center of the two rooms hung a pair of pink and white wedding bells and the table decorations were rose buds with smilax trailed around. Music was rendered i by the Wheeler orchestra while the! Misses Margaret Naughton, Irene Weller, Isabel Dowling am! Edith Davis served the seventy-five guests.Mr. and Mrs. Schafer left during the afternoon for a two weeks wedding trip in Chicago and other places in the east.Mrs. Schafer is the eklest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Megan and has been one of the popular teachers of Hardin county. Mr. Schafer is the son of Mr. and Mrs, Robert Schafer. He graduated from the Eldora High School and during the World War served overseas. He is one of Eldora’s i progressive young business men.Guests from out of town in attendance at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. John Morrigan and Mrs. Charles Graham, of Joliet, 111.; Mrs. Margaret Hayes, Mrs. Ella Roth, Mrs. Anna Bannon, Frank Hayes, Will Hayes and Mr. Vincent, all of Ackley; Miss Katherine Horrigan, Mason City; Misses Irene Welter, Margaret Naughton and j Mr. and Mrs. W. A.
