BANKS—PAYNE.Mr. John S. Banka and Miss Mayme Payne were married at the First Baptist Church at noon yesterday. The church was prettily decorated with palms and potted plants, and the ceremony was performed in the presence of a large number of invited quests. Mr. Walter Cler played the Lohengrin” march as the bridal party entered the church. The ushers, Mr. Joseph Farr, Mr. Harvey Griffin, Mr. R. E. Banks and Mr. Walter Metzger, led and were followed by the maid of honor, Miss Hattie Berry. The bride walked with her father, Mr. Samuel Payne. The groom, with his best man, Mri A. C. Banks, Jr., met the bride at the altar. The marriage ceremony was Impressively performed by Rev. John D. Jordan. V. *' /The bride wore a traveling gown of brown chiffon taffeta. The skirt was pleated and was made round length. The blouse Eton jacket was shirred end finished with wide round collar, with stole ends, and was worn over a white silk shirt w aist and vest of lace. Her hat was of brown panne velvet, with crown of brown chrysanthemums, shading to burnt orange.The maid of honor wore green voile over taffeta and trimmed with silk and cream applique. Her hat was of cream lace. She carried a bouquet of LaFrance roses.Mr. and Mrs. Banks left immediately after the ceremony for the North. On their return they will be at home at No. 516 Bolton street, east.The bride is an attractive and popular young lady. The groom Is a well-known young business man and is manager of the Phillips Crew Company.
