BORN - NORDALA double-ring ceremony was emnized in Bru Lutheran Church, Cypress River, Man., on September 23rd, 1961, at 0:30 p.m. whep Car-ole Gail, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John H Nordal, Cypress River Man., was united in marriage with Ernest Gerhard Born, eldest son of Rev. and Mrs. Abram H. Born, Morden, Man. Pastor O. Donald Olsen, assisted by the groom’s!) father. Rev Born, performed ffcv ceremony. The soloist was Mr. Elmer V. Nordal of Winnipeg. Man.,who sang ‘The Wedding Benediction” preceding the ceremony, and “O Promise Me” during the signing of the register. Mr. Lome Patterson of Glenbono was the organist.The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a floor-length gown of white silk organza over net and silk taffeta styled on Princess lines, featuring a stand up portrait collar with insert of laceplique inlaid with irrideseent sequins, and long lily-point sleeves. The full skirt had appliques of lace roses and iridescent sequins at the waistline and on the skirt. Her tiara of seeded pearls and jewels was caught by a four-tier, finger-tip pouffe veil of silk illusion. She carried a cascade of red sweetheart roses with stephanotis and ivy. Her only jewellery was a gold locket belonging to her mother.Attending the bride as maid of , honour was her sister, Miss Diana Nordal. Misses Marilyn Born, sisterI of the groom, and Caroline Kenyon were bridesmaids The flower-girl was little Miss Beverley Anderson, (cousin of the bride. The attendants wore identical gowns of peacock , blue nylon chiffon over net and taffeta with matching lace and chiffon jackets. The'matching headpieces of lace and chiffon formed circlet style caps. They carried cas-I cade bouquets of Snowdrop mums., The best man was Mr. Garry Dyck of Morden. Ushering the guests were Gary Helgason and Edward Arndt of Winnipeg The ring-bearer was Master Barry James Nordal, brother of the bride.The reception was held in the Memorial hall, Cypress River, Mr. T. Kenyon proposed the toast to the bride, to w'hich the groom responded. A dance followed the reception.For travelling, the bride chose a deep lilac poodle cloth suit, white maribou hat and gloves with black patent shoes and bag She wore agardenia corsageThe couple left on a short honeymoon to the south and will reside*in Winnipeg.
