John C. (‘Jack’) W Clougherty, for merly a Boston policeman, for two weeks a soldier at the Ayer Canton ment, was hailed last evening by more than 300 friends in his home, 212 Lst, South Boston, at his wedding reception. “Jack” is using his seven-days’ fur lough in marrying Miss Rose Dunleavy of 173 Chelsea st, Charlestown. Miss Dunleavy became Mrs Clougherty in St Mary’s Church, Charlestown, last evening, Rev John Tierney officiating. The bride was attended by her chum, Miss Helen Moore of Charlestown, and the best man was James E. Benson of South Boston. All hands adjourned aft er the ceremony to Jack’s home in South Boston, where there was a jolly time long after Mr and Mrs Clougherty started their wedding tour. More than 20 police from Station 2 and as many more from Station 7 attended the festivities, William Keane, Joseph McGrath, William Ryan, John Sullivan, Albert Wittan, James Riley, Charles O’Brien, John Troy, William Flaherty, Miss Alice Scobie and Annie Clougherty helped to entertain.
