MARRIEDAt Oquawka, 111., on Thursday, Oct.1, 1890, Rev. A. P. Beall, pastor of the M. E. church, officiating, John Birdsall of Smithshire and Mrs. Mary A. Boyd of Biggsville were married.The friends of the contracting parties have for some time suspected that the above notice was likely to appear at any time, but all were ignorant as to the time when the happy event would occur, and Mr. Birdsall managed to get away from his town and was married several days before his friends were aware of it.The groom is one of Smithshire’s highly respected citizens, a substantial business man, a jolly, good-natured gentleman, and as he has an abundance of this world’s goods to go with his good nature, he is amply prepared to make the life of a woman a happy one. The bride is one of Hendersou county’s best women, who enjoys the respect of all her acquaintances.Mr. and Mrs. Birdsall will make their home in Smithshire and occupy a neat and cozy cottage, recently built by Mr. Birdsall.Mr. Birdsall is the father of Deputy County Clerk D.
