Pierce- BoydCharlotte Ann Pierce and Robert John Boyd, both of Winchester, were united in marriage Sept. 28 at the gazebo at Frederick County Fairgrounds.The bride is the daughter of Fannie Newlin and the late John Shaffer Sr.The bridegroom is the son of Robert Louis Boyd and the late Irene Kennan Boyd.The Rev. Anthony Wadsworth officiated.Given in marriage by her daughter, Rebecca Anne Lauck of Stephenson, the bride wore a two-piece cream colored dress and carried a bouquet of silk roses and baby’s breath with pearls.Patricia Ann Nethers of Winchester was matron of honor for hermother.Darrell Bean was best manA reception was held in the Whitacre Building at the fairgrounds.Pre-nuptial entertainment included a bridal shower in Jim Barnett Park hosted by Patty Nethers and Becky Lauck; and a shower hosted by Becky Lauck at the Front Royal home of the bride’s sister, Dorothy Manuel.The bride is employed by KFC of Winchester as an assistant manager.The bridegroom is employed by National Fruit Product Co. in Winchester.Following a wedding trip to Peaks of Otter and Roanoke, the couple is residing in Frederick County.
