Miss Watkins Married.Following closely on the heels of the announcement last week of the approaching marriage of Miss Lyral Watkins, formerly of Ames, now of Clinton, came cards Monday, with the news of her marriage to Mr. Arthur K. Larsen of Kenosha, Wisconsin, July twenty-second. A Clinton paper says:At a family reunion at the home of the bride’s grandfather, B. Fitzgerald, in Union, Iowa, last Saturday, the wedding of Miss Myral A. Watkins of Clinton to Mr. Oscar K, Larson of Kenosha. Wis.. was announced, the wedding occurring July 22, at the home of Judge Randall in Kenosha. Theonly witnesses were the bride’s brother, Ray Watkins, and Mrs. Randall. The wedding has been kept aprofound secret, the parents of thebride not being told until Saturday at the reunion. The couple, with Ray Watkins, the brother, were taken by County Clerk Russell Jones of Kenosha in his auto to the home of Judge Randall, where the ceremony was performed.The 'bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. (. H. Watkins, 931 North Second street, who recently moved here from Kenosha. Mr. Watkins is connected with the Kelly Sorenson Co. Mrs. Larson has been employed asstenographer at the Clinton SignWorks.Mr. Larson arrived Friday evening from Kenosha and with the Watkinsfamily left for Union in an auto Saturday morning to attend the reunion at the Fitzgerald home. It was here that the wedding was announced.The groom is employed in the Rambler Auto Factory at Kenosha. He left Friday morning for that city. Mrs. Larson will follow in about three weeks. They will be at home for the present in Kenosha, but later expect to make their home in Detroit. Mich.Since the above was published, Mr. Larsen, who is a toolmaker by trade, has resigned his position with the Rambler people and will leave the last of the month for Detroit, Michigan, where he will be employed in the Tim-ekin Axle Works.Mr. and Mrs. Larsen will go to housekeeping at once at Detroit after the bride’s two-weeks visit with her parents, and Ray Watkins, who has also taken a position in the same shops, will make his home with them.Mrs. i.arsen is well known in Ames, having been in the employ of theTilden Store Company for some time. Her many Ames friends wish her prosperity and happiness in her new home.A A
