The marriage of Verna Louis**La.vcock, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Laycock, and Ronald John W illiam Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. VV. Smith, was solemnized on September 28. at 7 p.m. in Westminster United Church. Rev. N. R. Mercer officiated, assisted by Rev. A. Simpson. Mr. A. Burl ridge presided at The organ and Miss M. McCredie was soloist.Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of Rose-pointe chantllly lace and nylon tulle over bridal satin. It featured a portrait neckline and on the lily-point sleeves were her maternal grandmother’s wedding pearls. The lavish sweep of skirt drifted into a cathedral train, panelled with lace. Her two tiered veil of french illusion was held by a double crown of lace accented with seed pearls. She carried a cascade of red baby roses and white carnations. . , r \'j iMiss Marjorie Laycock. sister c fthe bride, attended as maid of honor and Miss Joanne Nicoll was bridesmaid. Richard Kendall was best man. The guests were ushered by Arthur Woitte and Jack Ledger^! ^ V:;; .:V ■ '' ' JA reception was held at Pembina Lodge. The bride is a 1955 graduate of the Winnipeg General Hospital and the bridegroom is a Commerce graduate (honors) from the University of Manitoba.
