All did well and the audience was greatly pleased.Triss is a pretty, little romance, beginning in a Western mining camp and closing in Eastern affluence.Miss Tana Clifford, daughter of Dr.J. W. Clifford, tilled the role of Triss, a pretty little lass, the pride of the Siearras. She had been found as a wait by Hank Jordan, a miner, who gave her a home and she became a favorite in the mining camp. She had jsweet and sunny except when notroused by jealously. Miss Clifford idled her role very pleasantly, not only as a mountain lass, but when as a fashion-* *bi; tjbable \ oung iadv. among Eastern axis*✓ o *'woAre*bIstocracy.Mr. Floyd C. (Milford iili the difficult role of “Hank Jordan,” foster father of Triss. He was a loyal friend, the foe of crime and the leader among the miners. He always turned up when his services were most needed, |Mr, Clifford has had considerable ex- 1 q|perience on the stage, having been out! p one season with the Guy Stock Company and one with the Starnes-Rey-uokls Company. While lie was leader of the band he often liiied parts in the performances, lie is perfectly at home on the stage and acquitted himself with great credit.*Mr. A. D. English took the leading role as “Nat Webber,” the lover of Triss, a splendid young fellow falsely t accused of a murder committed by-Jack Hamlin, but was acquitted and I finally won the heart and hand of Triss. Mr, Ed Hansford filled the part of the “Villiau” Jack Hamlin. This was i difficult role but Mr. Hansford filledafiacaaj it successfully. j hMr. Oh as. (timber was very am us* c ing as lion.
