Mr and Mrs. George Meldrum, of Poughquag, N. Y., announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Barbara Day Meldrum. to Mr. David Howe Vail, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ar-theur H. Vail, Jr., Feach Lake, Brew ster. N. Y.Miss Meldrum was graduated from Cornell University in 1.94.9 where she majored in Home Economics. At present she is a faculty member of the Mahopac Central School.Mr. Vail, a senior at Pace College,New York City, attended Choate School. Wallingford. Conn. and served two and a half years in the'Army Air Force.
