Souris. was the scene of a double ring ceremony August 22 at 1 p.m. when Janet Pearl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Mel Wilson of Souris, exchanged marriage vows with Bill Phillips. son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Caskey of KatrimeSoloist Mrs G Dornian was accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Wallcraft.Entering the church on the arm of her father, the bride looked radiant in a floor length gown of white lace and net with fitted bodice, which featured bateau neckline and long lace lily point sleeves. A lace cap held a shoulder length veil and she carried a bouquet of red roses.The bride was attended by Miss Pat Wilson, sister of the bride, as maid of honor, with Misses Linda Swaenepoel, and Beverly Caskey, sister of the groom, as bridesmaids. They chose street length dresses of Versailles taffeta, two in pink and one in blue. Matching lt;flowers and net formed theirheadpieces and they carriedbouquets of tinted mums.Attending the groom was Richard Demer, cousin of the groom, and ushering the guests were Donald Phillips, brother of the groom, and Robert Wilson, brother of the bride.The bride’s mother wore aturquoise sheath dress and matching jacket with white accessories. and a corsage of pink roses.The mother of the groom wore a cranberry red dress andhat with white accessories, and a corsage of white roses.The reception was held in the parish hall with 60 guests. Robert Collinson of Souris proposed the toast to the bride to which the groom ably responded.For going away the bride chose a pale blue suit with white accessories. A corsage of pink roses completed her outfit.The happy couple left for a honeymoon in the U.S.A. and on their return will reside in Souris.
