These people have lived here for many years, and last Sunday they celebrated theirfortieth wedding anniversary at their♦ •home. A number of friends and re!-*4aClves were invited to join them in this pleasant occasion, and a fine* t *time was enjoyed by those present. Atoe dinner was served' and the dayis one that will long be remembered. Mr. Halstead; is in ihis 83rd year, while Mrs. Halstead lhas passed the 7 Oth milestone.There are several remarkable instances connected with this anniversary. (Mrs. Clara Malkin, ’who resides at Escondido, and who was present at this affair, stood uip withMr. and Mrs. Halstead at their wed-• ♦ding in Los Angeles forty years ago.Mr. Halstead is a *49er, having come*to California when the early rush was on, making the entire distance with a don/key.
