The marriage of Miss Agnes P. Earle, daughter of H. J. Earle, Esq., Fogo, to Doctor C. V. Smith, of Twil lingate, took place in St. Andrew's Church, Fogo, at 11 am., Tuesday, November 16th., the Rev. E. A. But ler officiated, assisted by Revs. N. S. Wacey and H. Kirby, the church being nicely decorated for the occasion. The clergy and choir met the bridal party at the west door and proceeded in procession up the aisle singing a Hymn. Arriving at the Chancel where stood the bridegroom and best man, the opening sentences of the service were read by Rev. N. S. Facey; the Rev. E. A. Butler then made them man and wife, the concluding part was taken by the Rev. H. Kirby. The bride was beautifully attired in a gown of cream silk colienne with a veil of white silk tulle, and a coronet of orange blossoms and carried a chequet of Chrysanthemums; she was attended by Miss Gwendoline Pooke and Miss Malcolm who looked charm ing in dresses of pale green colienne and white tulle veils, each carrying boquets. The groom was ably supported by Mr. Harold S. Earle. After the ser vice the bridal party returned to the residence of the bride’s father where a reception was held followed in the evening by a very enjoyable dance. The bride was the recipient of many valuable and useful presents, includ ing a gift from each member of ‘her Sunday School Class, a pearl brooch was the gift of the groom, and a Neu meyer piano that of her father. The groom’s gifts to the brides maid's were gold and pearl lace pins. The bride is a very popular and much esteemed young lady, as was demon strated by the big display of hunting on the shipping and on shore, and by the sound of guns and cannon booming their message of congratula tion and best wishes. Mr. and Mrs. Smith left by the 5.5. Clyde for Twilling are their future home.—Com.
