Hughes son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Hughes of Emmetsburg, were united in marriage Monday morning, Nov.24th, at nine o’clock at St. Mary’s church in Mallard. Rev, F. J.Illg officiated at the single ring ceremony, followed by the nuptial mass. Rev. C. C. Farrelly of Emmetsburg was in the sanctuary.White and yellow chrysanthemums adorned the altar. Hughes is a graduate of the Mallard schools and Iowa State College at Ames. She taught homemaking in Armstrong and Spencer public schools.Mr. Hughes graduated from the Emmetsburg high school and State University of Iowa where he received his degree in pharmacy. Immediately after his graduation he entered the Army Air Force, serving 34 months, of which 16 months were spent in the Mediterranean theatre.
