Reenters Celebrate50th AnniversaryMr. and Mrs. George Beemer of Oak Hill community were honored Sun day afternoon, Nov, 15, for their 50th wedding anniversary with open house at the Oak Hill church. About 250 relatives and friends attended.George Beemer of Gravity and Jessie Whipple of Snarpsburg were married November 17, 1914 at tihe home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs, C. M. Whipple near Sharpsburg with the Rev. E. E. Rhodes of Oak Jliil officiating. The couple have lived on their present | farm, since they began housekeeping fifty years ago.They are the parents of two children: one son. Dr.Melvin R. Beemer of Corning, la., and one daughter, Mrs. Gerald Rainforth (Dorothy), who passed away November 27. 1958. They have six grandchildren. IThe serving table, covered with gold net over a white j cloth was draped with green fernery, gold paper ribbons, gold and white streamers and centered with a threetiered cake, flanked by gold candles. Included in the decorations were the names George and Jessie and dates in gold letters, with gold and white streamers.Helping with the serving were Mrs. Mabel Shafar, Mrs. Anna Thomas, Mrs. Feme Dun kin, Mrs. Helen Parks, Mrs. Katie Morgan and Mrs. Fcrne Beemer.Mrs. Lillian Leonard, dining room hostess, greeted the guests and Mrs. Beverely Hardee pinned the gold favors on the ladies. Mrs. Mar* ney Beemer presided at the guest book which was a gift from Dr. and Mrs. M. R. Beemer. The guests wereal-j so greeted in the receiving , hne by the honored couple, their son, Dr. M. R. Beemer1, and their six grandchildren.1.Mrs. Larry Rainforth and j Miss Elzene Diggs cared for', the gifts and the many cards1, nnd the money tree.Mr. Reeves, Coming, Jud- : son Beemer and Mrs. Tho- ’ mas took pictures.Mrs. Beemer wore a whiteorchid corsage trimmed with :gold and Mr. Beemer and ' the other men of the family J wore gold tipped, white car- lt;nation boutonnieres.The other ladies of the : family and Mrs. Lillian Leonard wore white gold tipped carnation corsages, ^ all were gifts of Dr. and Mrs. M. R. Beemer. The six grandchildren dedicated and sang an original song entitled “Saga of George and Jessie” written by the Beemer Icliildren’s grandparents, Mr.and Mrs. A.
