Miss Catherine Cane Is Wed T o Robert Schivaner W ednesdayMias Catherine Rebecca Cane was married to Robert William Schwaner of New Orleans Wednesday in Government St. Methodist church at 3:30 pm. The Rev. Dr. A. E. Shafer officiated.«ilms, white chrysanthemums and lighted tapers in candelabra decorated the church. Clusters of chrysanthemums marked the family pews.Mrs. W. C. Spottswood and Plorian Alrey presented the program of nuptial music, including “All for You,” “Because,” “Leibes-traum” and the conventional processional and recessional wedding marches.Miss Frances Mabry and Miss Shirley Schaub of New Orleans were bridesmaids. Loren Moore of New Orleans, niece of the bride, was Junior bridesmaid and Mrs. Charles Herman Lambert, sister of the bride, was matron of honor.The bridesmaids and Mrs. Lambert were dressed alike, in African blue tafetta gowns made with fullskirts, tiny ruffled sleeves, Peter Pan collars and buttons down the front. The junior bridesmaid’s dress was of African blue tafetta, made with ruffles from waistline to skirt, with ruffled sleeves, Peter Pan collar and buttons down thefront.Miss Schaub and Loren carried deep pink roses. Mss Mabry and Mrs. Lambert carried lighter pinkroses. The Junior bridesmaidwore diver slippers and a wreath of natural flowers in her hair. The other bridesmaids also wore silver slippers, and wreaths of silver flowers in their hair. Mrs. Lambert’s slippers were blue.The bride, given in marriage by her father, Peter James Cane, was In white satin, made princess style, with buttons down the back.Ruching formed a stand-up collar' around the high neck and edged the long sleeves, which tapered over the wrist. Her veil of illusion, caught at the back with a wreath of orange blossoms, fell over theface, was showeoed with orangePurple and white chrysanthemums also decorated the sunroom, where punch was dispensed.Refreshments were served to a large group of young people who called during the afternoon.blossoms and white satin ribbon. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses with lilies of the valley, tied with white satin ribbon.Mrs, Cane, mother of the bride, was in a black rough crepe with blue buckle and buttons. Her accessories were black and she wore a corsage of white button chrysanthemums.Mrs. Robert Fergus Schwaner of New Orleans, mother of the bridegroom, was in dubonnet velvet with black accessories and a white button chrysanthemum corsage.Mr. and Mrs. Cane entertainedat a reception in their home after the wedding. White chrysanthemums decorated the rooms. The bride’s table was centered with her cake and had silver appointments. Mrs. Jack Paterson, Miss Evelyn Frasier, Mary Norton. Mrs. T. O.Howell, Jr.* and Alicia Cane of New Orleans served the refreshment course of sandwiches, cake, nuts and mints. Mrs. P. Gray Cane of Bay Minette, Mrs. J. L. Moore of New Orleans and Mrs. William K. Cane poured tea.. After the reception, Mrs. Schwaner changed to traveling attire, an English tweed costume suit with a long coat, which had a brown muskrat stole. She wore brown accessories and a corsage. Mr. and Mrs. Schwaner will be at home at 611 Exposition Blvd., New Orleans, after the first ol theMrs. Schwaner is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cane. After graduating from Murphy high, where she was a welfare day queen one year, she attended Rabouln Memorial school in New Orleans, where she was graduated In June In commercial art. For the past few years she has made her home In New Orleans with her sister, Mrs. J. L. Moore.Mr. Schwaner is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Schwaner of New Orleans.
