W eddingsHERMAN—DOWMiss Irma Eileen Dow, daughter.'•of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert L- Dow, became the bride of Dean. O. Her-■;man of Detroit Saturday after* noon, November 21. 1936, at the Methodist Church House, at Bad Axe, Michigan. • 'r The service was read at 3:30 by the Rev. Mr. Watters of the Methodist Episcopal church. Ivory tapers on the mantel and a tall basket .of chrysanthemums beforethe fireplace formed the setting for : the ceremony. ;Mrs. Otis Pratt of the Sault sang i At Dawning” and “O Promise.Me V'-.vr;- ,;rV' , ‘f ■' j:: Miss Norah Do%vd. played ‘ the * bedding march from Lohengrin as the. bridal party ..entered. The bride V wore an, ivory taffeta- gown.. The ■''quaint i bodice, ;fastened lo a high-necked yoke of Ale neon lace, ended with a full-skirted train and wasI ■ . finished with tiny plaited ruffles of taffeta. The fingertip veil, bordered with an applique of Alencon lace, was fastened by orange bios-sonns to a cap of the same lace. The bride carried her mother’s wedding handkerchief and a colonial bouquet of lilies of the valley and white roses.Miss Dolores Dow of East Lansing and Miss Rhea Kelly of Bad Axe attended the brfde. Miss Dow's gown was of wine moire and Miss Kelly’s of old-blue moire. Both dresses were fashioned with tight-fitting bodices and full skirts ending In slight trains.- . The puffed sleeves were elbow-length. The small colonial bouquets carried by Miss Dow. and Miss Kelly were of Johanna Hill roses.Gerald Vogelsang of Jackson and Gerald Dow of East Lansing attended the bridegroom.A reception took place immediately after the ceremony. Miss Flora Burgess and MiS3 Genevieve Thourlby poured. 'Mr. and Mrs. Herman are ,both graduates . of Michigan ,. State Teachers' College. Before her. marriage Mrs. Herman taught irr the public schools of this city.Upon their return from a wedding trip to Chicago, ilr. and.Mrs. Herman will he at home at Detroit where Mr. Herman is employed as a salesman for the Detroit City Gas company.Especially designed
