W/A.Harvey Couple MarkGolden AnniversaryMr. and Mrs. Fred Whitney of 159 East 157th street, Harvey,were honored at a party on November 15 at the Hazel Crest American Legion hall in celebration of their golden wedding anniversary.Some 50 relatives attended the festivity which was hosted by their daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Earl .1. McCracken of Hazel Crest. Also sharing the happy occasion was their son, Frank, and his family of Gary, Ind. The McCrackens have two sons, David and Daniel. The Frank Whitnevsmhave a son and daughter, Richard and Sandra.Fred Whitney and the former*Margaret Nelson were married November 19, 1919, in Chicago. The earlv years of their mar-riage were spent in Chicago. Ilt;iter thev lived for some timemin Delaware, Ohio and Texas.THEY HAVE been residents of Harvey since 1944. Harvey was not a new location for Mrs. Whitenev since it was hermhometown and many of her relatives are located here.Prior to his retirement, Mr. Whitney was employed with Allied Steel Castings company in Harvey. Mrs. Whitney is a member of the Ascension church where she has been a member of the Ascension Women's club. She is also a member of the Royal Neighbors.When weather permits, the couple's favorite hobby is fishirig.
