Luther I Stevon . 71, of Route4, today became the 16th per son to die in atraffir accident in Monongalia county this year.Mr. Stevens died at 6:30 a m as a result of injuries sustainedwhen struck by a car on University Avenue yesterday afternoon.Hospital officials said Mr Stevens was adm'itted about 12 40 p.m. He was suffering from “extensive head injurie - and a broken left leg.; ComplicationsOfficials said he died of “complications resulting from his injuries.”At 10 a.m. today no charges had been filed against the driver of the car involvedMr. Stevens was injured when struck by a 1959 Rambler as he attempted to cross University I Avenue near the intersectioni with Pleasant Street, i Fairmont DriverThe driver, Mark W. Poling, j 19. of Fairmont, told city police that Mr. Stevenes stepped into the street from behind a traffic control booth. He said ■ he was unable to keep from hitting him.j An ambulance rushed Mr. Stevens to the hospital.I Mr. Stevens, who lived on the ; Point Marion Road was born Feb. 12, 1895, in Clinton District, a son of the late Rawley and Elizabeth Barnes Stevens, j A retired farmer, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Helen Louise Stevens; a son, Luther R. Stevens of Grafton Road; a daughter, Mrs. Anna ElizabethMcle of Galion, Ohio; t w o brothers, George and John Stevens of Cadiz, Ohio; four sisters, Miss Annie Stevens and ; Mrs. Deliee J. Gemas of Morgantown, Mrs. Mary Gregory and Mrs. Dorothy Pointer of New London, Ohio; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Two brothers preceded him in death.Friends may call at the Fred L.
