“JESSE JAMES” FILM DIRECTOR JOPLIN VISITORStill enthralled with tales and legends of Jesse James, Henry King, who directed the motion picture production, uJesse James/' yesterday revisited Noel and Pineville, where the picture was filmed during the summer of 1938.King was grounded here in his airplane by the cloudy weather. He is en route from Troy, O., to Fort Worth, Tex., accompanied by Lee N. Brutus, vice president of the Waco Aircraft Company.They arrived here yesterday afternoon and spent several hours visiting in McDonald and Newton counties. King and Brutus are staying at the Connor hotel, closely watching weather conditions and hoping to leave late this afternoon or tomorrow.King remains full of details of Jesse James’ life and talks en- ■ thusiastieally on the success of the picture and his pleasant experiences in connection with its filming.He and Brutus have been friends ; for about eight years. When King came through Troy, O., where the Waco factory is located, Brutus took advantage of a Thanksgiving holiday to accompany King to Fort * Worth. From Texas, King will go ^ to California for conferences on a ‘ picture based on the Eagle Squad- \ ron, the unit of American fliers in f England’s royal air force.
