HosriTATi Items.—A. man named JohnO’ Brien, aged fifty years, admitted into the Pennsylvania Hospital, at an earlj? hour yesterday morning, with his akull fractured.? He wab brakesman of a freight train on the Pennsylvania Hail-road, and when about two miles from the city wasordered by toe conductor to detoh three oars fromthe train'; but he only oast two loose, and in a short time another one broke away, coming in collision with the other two, throwing O’flrieu off, and injuring Mb skull in such a manner that he died at the hoBpitaI between throe and four o’clock yesterday afternoon.Eufisell M. Briggg, aged Forty-oevea years, was also•admitted into the hospital yesterday with both hia bands amputated. It appears that he went to the National Cemetery at Gettysburg last week for the purpoieof obtaining the body of his son, who was killed at that memorable battle, and while there he picked up a shell, which, unknown to him, contained some powder, and while hammering it on a Btone the powder ignited, exploding the shell, and terribly lacerating both his bands, which were amputated there before he was sent to the hospital.
