Richardson, Strickland wedMyra Yvonne Richardson and David J. Strickland exchanged wedding vows during a candlelight ceremony Nov. 7 at the Southport Assembly of God Church. Reverend Darwin Glass performed the double ring service.The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Richardson of Southport. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Henry Flowers of Eastpoint, Fla. and Mr. and Mrs. Aden Richardson of Southport.The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Betty Strickland of Panama City and the late Mr. Ira Strickland Jr. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Widincamp of Panama City and Mrs. Zellie Strickland of Ebro and the late Mr. Ira Strickland Sr.Linda Miller, organist, and the bride’s sister-in-law, Lynette Richardson, soloist, performed the nuptial music.Presented in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of bridal white satin featuring a Victorian neckline accented with lace and lace sleeves. The skirt, fashioned at the waist, fell into a chapel length train. To complement her gown, she chose a fingertip length veil and carried a cascade of miniature ice-blue carnations.Mrs. Denice Deal, the bride’s sister, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Darlene and Bonita Richardson, the bride’s sisters. Steve Casey served as best man. Usher-groomsmen were Arthur “Buddy Widincamp and Dale Strickland, the bridegroom’s brother.Karen Gilley, flower girl, and Hunter Richardson, the bride’s nephew, served as ring bearer.Following the ceremony, a reception was given by the bride’s parents in the church fellowship hall. During the reception Karen Oglesby served at the punch bowl; Koni Miller kept the bride’s book; Aletha Martin served the bridegroom’s cake; and Violet Kirkland and Connie Shadrick served the bridal cake. The wedding was directed by Angi Holley.After a wedding trip to Disney World and Busch Gardens, the couple will reside in Panama City. The bridegroom is employed by Margaret Fashions and the bride at the tax collector’s office.A rehearsal dinner was held Nov. 6 in the fellowship hall of Southport Assembly of God. It was hosted by Mrs. Betty Strickland and catered by Mr. and Mrs. Joe Mastro.A bridal shower was held Oct. 1 at Southport Assembly of God. It was hosted by Angi Holley, Karen Oglesby, Toni Kirton, Koni Miller, and Judy Richardson.Another shower was held Oct. 13 at the First Federal building in Lynn Haven. It was hosted by Judy Widincamp and Mildred Ezell.On Oct. 14, the bride’s co-workers, hosted another shower at the tax collector’s office.The Ebro Community Center was the setting for a shower held in the bride’s honor Oct. 16.
