Daughter Former Corsicana Couple Weds in DallasThe following social item taken from Thursday's Dallas News will be of interest to relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs, W. L. Holmes and their daughter, Ruth, who were residents of this city at one time:“Miss Ruth Holmes, ■ daughter of Mr. and Mrs, W. L. Holmes, Sr., 4228 Haskell Place, became ,tho bride of Samuel Wilson Laughlin of 6226 Reigei* avenue, son of M\v. and Mrs, W. D. Laughlin, of Anthony, Kan., Wednesday evening at the Hunger Place Methodist church. Dr. W. Harrison Baker, pastor of the church, read the ceremony before an altar of palms and ferns.‘‘The church was decorated with yellow crysanthemums, ferns and cathedelar tapers which lighted the church.“The bride who was given in marriage by her father, wore a fitted white satin gown with fitted sleeves, with diamond-shaped puffs. The bride’s veil was of bridal illusion falling from a nun’s cap of open lace. The veil was caught to the - cap with orange blossoms. Her slippers were of white satin and she carried a shower bouquet of bride’s roses and lilies of the valley,“Miss Claudlne Fanning maid ofMionor, wore a model gown of yellow taffeta with puff sleeves and trimemd in turquoise. She wore moire slippers of turquoise and lace mitts of the same color. Her arm bouquet was of per? net roses and was tied with yellow tulle bow.Matron of Honor.“The matron of honor, Mrs. W. I-I. Underhill, wore a gown of coral tafefta made with a bustle effect. Her lace mitts and moire , slippers matched her frock. She carried an arm bouquet of Talisman roses tied with yellow tulle.“Miss Odie G. Becker and Miss Virginia Simpson, bridesmaids, . wore gowns of turquoise taffeta, They wore lace” mitts and slippers -of turquoise. Miss Mary Belle Gillespie and Miss Ellen Moore, bridesmaids wore frocks made on . similar lines, of yellow taffeta Their lace mitts and slippers fnatched the frocks. Each bridesmaid carried an arm bouquet of 3 pernet roses tied with yellow tulle.‘‘Miss Bernice Darwin and Miss Frances Dean gave the wedding music. 1“Little Dorothy Helen Pugh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Pugh of Dallas, was flower girl.The bridegroom was attended by Dawson E. Von Noy of Dallas as best man and Hugh Silverton of Fort Worth, Reuben M. Cochran of Oklahoma City, Albert P. Brown of Dallas and Francis M. Holmes of Dallas as groomsmen. Reception Given at Homo “Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. Yellow chry-1 santhemums and ferns were used • in the decorations.
