Lake Park Teacher Married FridayA number from here attended the wedding of Miss Elsie Blass, kindergarten teacher here and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Blass of Estherville, and Eugene E. Bates of Camp Carson, Colorado, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bates of Ocheye-dan. The ceremony was solemnized Friday evening, Nov. 9 at 8 o’clock at the First Methodist church in Estherville. Rev. John DeLong read the double ring service by candlelight.The bride who was given in marriage by her father, was gowned in white satin fashioned with a train. With it she wore a finger tip veil and carried a bouquet of pompons. The two strand pearl necklace she wore was a gift from the bride-grooms mother. Irene Blass, sister if the bride, was maid of honor and Doris Block was bridesmaid. They wore yellow and blue taffeta, respectively, and had corsages of dirysanthemums. Doris Blass, niece f the bride, was flower girl. The ings were carried by Fred and Donald Frick, nephews of the bride-p*oom.Attending the bridegroom were leorge Frick, brother-in-law, asest man and John Bates, a brother, s groomsman.The bride attended the Cylinder igh school, Emmetsburg Junior College and Momingside College, he taught at Ledyard, and is in her ;: lird year as kindergarten teacher' t Lake Park.The bridegroom is a graduate of cheyedan high school, and farmed is father’s place until his induction ito the army in December 1950.At the wedding reception in the turch parlors the bridal table was mtered with a bouquet of flowers inked on either side by blue and illow candles. The bride’s colors ere repeated in the gift table decations. Barbara Wilson poured, id Bernice Larsen served.The newlyweds are honeymooning northern Minnesota.The bridegroom will return Sat-day to Camp Carson, Colorado, d Mrs. Bates will continue teach-l in the Lake Park school.Among those who attended the adding from here were Mr. and ’S. Emanuel Stoltzfus and children,Paul Nagel, Mr. and Mrs. Dick terson, Barbara Wilson, Bernice rson, Mary Read, Frances Chis-n, Margaret Fetersen, Mrs. Kan-h Wiechman, Mrs. Ella Mathie-i, Mrs. Lilly Finnem and Eunice I Janice ,and Doris Block.
