ALTAH SOCIETYMEETSThe November meeting of the St. Louis Altar Society was held Tuesday afternoon at the church.Roll call was “What We Are Most Thankful Ftar.”Father Theodore opened the meeting with prayer. Plans were discussed for a card party and social on Dec. 2.Mrs. Catherine Schuele reported on the ACCWConvention in Kansas City, which she attended. Mrs. Irene Wohletz was re-elected as ACCW representative for the coming year.New officers elected are Mrs. James Brull, president; Mrs. Anton Brox, vice president; and Mrs. Richard Erpelding, seeretary-treasurer.Refreshments were served by Mrs, Ed Boos and Mrs. Erpelding.The next meeting will be the Christmas gift exchange on Dec. 4. Hostesses will be Mrs. Catherine Schuele and Mrs. Raphael Wohletz.VfiWrMISS DEBBIESMITH HONOREDMiss Debbie Smith, bride-elect of Lowell Liggatt, was honored with a miscellaneous bridal shower recently at the Muscotah City Hall.Mrs. Alvin Henning presided at the guest book. The honoree’s table was centered with a bird house and floral arrangement. Arranging the gifts were Misses Dena Green and Debbie Henning.Piano music by Miss Tracy Rice and a vocal solo by Miss Rose Barthel was enjoyed.Miss Smith was assisted in opening her gifts by her mother, Mrs. Leslie Smith, and by the prospective bridegroom’s grandmother, Mrs.1 —Lona Hollenbeck.Refreshments were Berved from a table centered with a floral arrangement and tapers.Hostesses included Mesdames Alvin Henning, Bill Barthel, Floyd Oswald, Carl Anderson, Roger Schlax, LeRoy Rohlfs, Kenneth Green, Mike Wilson, Tom Wilson, Fred Gore, Ralph Lassen, Harold Fassnacht, Charles Roach, Ralph Rice, Elizabeth Beach, Lorene Liggatt, Debbie Henning and Virginia Schied.The couple will be married Nov. 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Muscotah Methodist church. A reception will be held at the Muscotah City Hall. Relatives and friends are cordially invited.AMEET AT CAROLBAPTIST CHURCHThe Philathea Ladies Fellowship met Monday evening at the Carol Baptist church. Group singing opened the meeting.Mrs. Jess Goodpasture, president, gave the opening prayer. Roll call was a favorite Bible verse.Guests were Miss Nadine Schick, Mrs. E. Gore and Mrs. Thelma Larson.Those selected for the nominating committee include Mrs. Jim Dirk, Mrs. Forrest Thorpe and Mrs. Warren Willmeth.Mrs. Gerald Thomas was in charge of the program. Devotions were given by Mrs. Ed Scott, assisted by Mrs. Willmeth and Mrs. Dirk.The class presented Mrs. Kenneth Chadbourn with a love gift in acknowledgement of her birthday.A musical reading by Mrs. Chadbourn was accompanied by the piano by Mrs. Larry Hoffman.
