U of C Students Wed 1In Temple Anshe SholomMiss Elizabeth Ray Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.Laurence A. Smith of 15231 Hastings drive, Dolton, became the bride of Matthew Paul Daniels, son of Mr. and Mrs.Jacob Daniels of Woodside,N.Y. in a recent candlelight ceremony at Temple Anshe Sholom in Olympia Fields.Rabbi Rosenthal performed the double ring ceremony. Elsa Mack was the organist* and Celia Calvert, violinist.The reception was held at theQuadrangle club on theUniversity of Chicago campus.Among the 200 guests were thebride’s grandparents, Mr. andMrs. Frederick Tydd o fRiverdale, and thebridegroom’s aunt, Mrs. SophieBerliner of New York.* * *Mr. and Mrs. Mathew DanielsFOLLOWING the reception, the young couple left for a Bermuda wedding vacation. They are at home now in Chicago where both are enrolled at the University of Chicago. The bride will be graduated in June with a BA degree in music. Her husband will receive his Ph.D in biology the same month.Laurence A. Smith gave his daughter in marriage. She wore a traditional wedding gown of white silk peau de soie trimmed in lace and pearls. The gown was designed with a scalloped neckline, natural waistline and long sleeves. Her bouffant skirt fell into a soft chapel train. A crown of sequins and pearls held her chapel length veil and she carried a bouquet of white roses.Bridesmaids made a handsome picture attired in pink dotted swiss gowns carrying lighted pink candles set in green foliage. Their headpieces were made of fresh pink roses to which were attached short pink veils.The bride’s cousin, Mrs. Ronald DeYoung of Thornton, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaid included two other cousins, Miss Gloria Bolin of Dolton and Miss Marilyn Tydd of South Holland, and twouniversity friends, Miss Markey Morgan and Miss Ricky Fortune.The bridegroom was attended by Sherwood Faigen as best man. The bride’s brother, Laurence A. Smith, Jr. served as an usher.The bride’s mother chose a pale green silk shantung gown with matching coat for her daughter’s wedding and reception. She wore matching accessories.
