Each of the several appearing on the programme gave fine productions, the day delightful from the beginningSperry, la., Nov. 9.—On Thursday, Nov. 4th, Mr. and Mrs. Chariot Breu-were married sixty years and on Sunday, Nov, 7th, a celebration fitting for the occasion was held ai their country home south of Sperry.This occasion will recall many interesting facta concerning the lives •of these two loved citizens of the j community.Charles Breuer was born in Germany in 184 5 and came to this country when but 14 years old. He received his education from his parents and developed a fondness for reading which still remains.Mrs. Breuer formerly Miss MaryVollmer was likewise born in Germany and came to this country when 6 ears old.Charles Breuer and Mary Vollmer were united in marriage in Burlington on Nov. 4th, 1866 by the Hew Mr.F. Fausel, pastor of the First German Evangelical church.They began their life together on a farm near Middletown, la., where they resided for 4 years.Then they rented a farm on# and one-half miles southwest of Sperry and lived there for 15 years. Fromtills place they moved to the farm where they are now living.Both Mr. and Mrs. Breuer are loved and esteemed in the communitywhere they spent their lives in ser-to close.
