McDOWELL—SOVEREIGNBethel Baptist Church, Simcoe, on Saturday, October 27, was the scene of the marriage of Mildred Irma Sovereign, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Sovereign, of Nixon, Ontario, to John P. McDowell, son of Mr. .and Mrs. J. S. McDowell, of Midland, for-1 merly of Bradford. Rev. N. W. Pipe ■ officiated.! Given in marriage by her father,I the bride’s dress wTas of white slipper * satin. She wore a finger-tip veil and carried white mums and Rapture roses. Her attendant, Miss Margaret i Linn, of Lynedoch, wore pink with matching head-dress, and carried Briarcliffe roses. Mr. Beverley Gilbert, of Nixon, was groomsman.A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, following which the bride and groom left for the Georgian Bay district and points north. The bride travelled in a grey wool suit with black accessories.Relatives attended the wedding from Detroit, Collingwood, Hamilton, Woodstock, Toronto, Wilsonville and other points.I Mr. and Mrs. McDowell will reside in Toronto.
