order of merit. • •Hotel Change. — Mr. J. A. Schelb, i heretofore chief clerk of the Germania House, on West Market street, assumes the proprietorship of this hotel next waek, the former proprietor, Mr. Jacob Hoelzer, retiring. Mr. Schelb is furnishing the Germania with bran new furniture, cars pets, etc., throughout, and putting the entire house io tip top order. A young man. fully conversant with hotel man* agement, and withal a corteous, obliging gentleman. Mr. Schelb intends to keep a house where cleanliness, good accommodations, liberal bill of fare and kind treatment at moderate charges will greet the traveler and make him feel (*at home.” A large, commodious stable is connected with the house, affording people from the rural districts shelter and feed for their horses. We wish Mr. Sohelb success.
