Mr. Mrs. Ernest Bloodby Yvonne LanelliMr. and Mrs. Ernest H. Blood, Alto, were honored on their sixtieth wedding anniversary with an open house Saturday, October 24 at the Blood ranch.Ernest Blood and Nora Hightower were married October 23, 1921 in Alto.Hosting the event were Alice Lindsey of Denton, Texas and Jo Nell Brooks of Partales, daughters of the couple.They were assisted by Sue Lewis, granddaughter of the couple, who presided at the guestbook She traveled from Normal, Illinois to be at their grandparents’ celebration.Serving were Teresa Coe ofFrom Alto and Angus cameRuidoso, Yvonne Lanelli of Alto Mr. and Mrs. Gil Peters, Colleenand Verna Adams of Capitan.Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Her-Also assisting with courtesies nandez and children, Mr. and Mrs.were Marjorie Hightower of Alto, Lester P. Lanelli and Glen 0.Hinkle.Also from Capitan and Nogal were Zona H. Cresap. One of the couple’s five great-grandchildren, Robert Lindsey, attended with his parents.Special guests included Ala Jones from Tularosa who attended school in Alto with Mrs. Blood and Hope Akers of Hatch who attended school with Mr. Blood in Richland.Texas.Several of Saturday’s guests had also attended the wedding in 1921. These included Charlie Pfingston of Nogal; Nellie Harrington of Alamogordo and Lula Anderson of Capitan; sisters of Mrs. Blood; Lula Runnels ofRuidoso, Della Hale of Denver,, baby roses and baby’s breath. Craft and Georgia Allison.Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Hightower and their family and Amelita Johnstone attended fromEl Paso, Texas.The serving table was decorated with white and pinkBarber and Herbert Travlor ofwCapitan; Cora LaMay Dutton ofNogal; and Dorothy Parnell of *Ruidoso Downs.Other guests from Ruidoso and Ruidoso Downs included Mr. and Mrs. Terry Coe and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Barney Barbel and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. George Bonal, Diance Clarke andring design also decorated with white and pink roses. It featured the names Ernest and Nora and the years 1921 and 1981. Flanking the cake was a silver coffee service and a silver punch service.Mrs. Blood was presented with a corsage of white and pink baby roses and Mr. Blood wore a pink babv rose boutonniere. Mrs.daughter, Joann M. Hall and Lindsey and Mrs. Brooks woregrandchildren, Jack Parnell, smaller baby rose corsages.Frances Douglass and CatherineLoughridge.
